Brokering Wishes

Brokering Wishes started in 2016 when Halifax Mortgage Broker, Bob Goudey, approached Derrick MacNeil from Graysbrook Capital, who was already involved with Make-A-Wish, and asked about teaming up to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Atlantic.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, and their families.

The Brokering Wishes team originally set out to raise $10,000 which was enough, at that time, to grant one wish. However, they raised $20,600 in the first year, enough for 2 wishes. In 2017 NL and NB joined in and organized their own events with a 2017 goal of $45,000, but again surpassed that goal and raised $53,525.

In 2018, Brokering Wishes increased their target to $80,000 and managed to raised over $88,000 for a 3-year total of $154,000.

In 2022 CMBA Atlantic was pleased to donate $2,192.71 to Brokering Wishes from proceeds of our November 16, 2022 Symposium through the support of our Industry Partners and Atlantic Brokers.

Brokering Wishes strives to grant as many wishes as we possibly can for Children each year.
