About CMBA Atlantic

The Canadian Mortgage Brokers Association – Atlantic (CMBA Atlantic) represents mortgage consumers and mortgage brokers in all four Atlantic Provinces with regulators (provincial and federal) and industry partners (lenders and default insurers).

Recognizing Mortgage Brokers are becoming the provider of choice for mortgage consumers, the CMBA Atlantic exists to support and enhance the professionalism and ethical standards within the mortgage broker industry of Atlantic Canada.

The Association supports regulations which protect mortgage consumers and seeks to ensure they are balanced, so as not to limit consumer options nor increase their costs when home financing is sought.

Incorporated in 2011 as the Mortgage Brokers Association of Atlantic Canada (MBAAC), it is not-for-profit and based in Halifax.  The Association is governed by an elected Board of Directors.

In 2015, for the purpose of benefiting members on matters of national policy and common interests, MBAAC, together with other industry Associations across Canada, formed the Canadian Mortgage Brokers Association.  To reflect this union, the MBAAC chose to adopt the new branding becoming CMBA Atlantic, with co-founding members CMBA – BC and CMBA- ON doing likewise.

CMBA and its member associations promote the MB logo to mortgage consumers to let them know “their best mortgage advice comes from a Mortgage Broker”, and to look for the mark of membership to find a Mortgage Broker.
